Today's good thing

Today's good thing: well, it was not a super day here. I slept until 8:30, and three of the cats slept with us all night. Jem between me and J, Fitz either at my feet(making it impossible to turn over) or in the crook of my arm. Squeaky slept all over.

We had breakfast and I got the garbage ready for pickup and it somehow ended up being after 1pm before I got outside. J came out to check the truck - - when I was at McDonald's the other day, the temp gauge went all the way over to hot.

While he was doing that, I was going to pick up pecans, but realized I hadn't seen Sam since Friday. We spent most of yesterday inside, looking for Christmas stuff, and it was pretty cool outside. I found her beside the house, sick. She has the goopy eyes/upper respiratory problems most of the outside cats have. So now, for the second time in literally a week, I feel so guilty. I don't even know how long she was out there and it was so cold the last two nights. We brought her in and warmed her up, and I cleaned her eyes, put in some of Bucky's ointment from when his eyes were like that, and put some drops in her nose so she could breathe. Cat drops, not human ones. She's very weak and won't eat, and I'm using a baby bottle to give her water. J's going to try and get her in at the vet's tomorrow. She's staying inside tonight and possibly forever. I just don't know how she got so sick so fast.

And J says we're going to have to get the truck checked out, but we have to wait until Thursday or Friday. I'm driving the car tomorrow, because J can still get to class after I get home. Tuesday and Wednesday are harder because he leaves earlier and stays later at class. He's going to use the truck tomorrow and see how it does.

What a day.
