Today's good thing

Today's good thing: we made it to Friday! It's been a hell of a week. Crappy management, horrible customers... and it's so hot. And today... one of the meat department guys was arrested. At work. He's been on drugs for a while. He went into the assistant managers' office(it was all on the surveillance video), stole money from Heather's purse, went to electronics and bought a phone. They called the police, who found pills on him.

Re the meat dept guy -- Oh geez! Was it scary and did you all know what was going on as it happened? I'm glad he was caught though as being stolen from feels awful and can really mess with your feeling of safety.

Crap, I really need to remember not to do these new LJ quick comments as hitting return posts, not starts a new paragraph. .... What I wanted to ask was whether addiction is a huge problem there (it may be here but I don't hear about it. ALTHOUGH (and it's a big although) we were driving by one of our old doctor's old offices a weekend or two back and started talking about back when we'd go see him (we stopped seeing him because as much as we liked him when we were actively sick it was too far to travel and thus we had to keep two doctors and it became easier to consolidate everything to just the one -- who turned into a rat and moved to Iowa just because he loved the area and got a much bigger paycheck -- as if *that* was a good reason to stop being our doctor! (LOL)). Anyway, we were talking about the one and wondered how he was doing and if he'd made any breakthroughs on cardiac care (he was not only a Doctor but doing a PhD in fluid mechanics as a part of his research. Brilliant guy). So when we got home I googled him and discovered that he'd been arrested for operating the biggest drug mill in North America! I'm still in shock as to how he could go from someone who really cared about his patients to someone who no longer did. It boggles my mind.
