Today's good thing

Today's good thing: work wasn't horrible today, but I'm pretty sure it will be tomorrow, and all next week.

We had a meeting this morning and James told us we'll have two trucks tomorrow, and no one scheduled to unload them, so that means department managers get to. And next week - - Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, *unless something else comes up*, we get to be in our own department until 1pm, then we go to grocery for the rest of the day. Despite the fact that many of us are the only ones in our department, and grocery has a DM and all of the CAP team. This is in anticipation of Thanksgiving.

There's something else, too. I haven't posted about this on Facebook, and talked to anyone except Sarah and J. In February, Walmart is trying out a new "customer first" scheduling program, where the computer schedules based on peak sales times. Pharmacy will be affected, which is a problem for pharmacists, techs and cashiers, as their pay comes from a separate budget. My problem, other than weird hours, is that they want all DMs scheduled for 40 hours. I only took the position because they let me keep a 4 day week, as opposed to 5. I can't tell you how much I don't want to be there 5 days a week. So, if there's no way around this, I told Sarah I'll probably be stepping down. She's pretty upset about that. We'll see how it turns out. On the good side: not as much stress about routines and inventory, no unloading trucks and dealing with Blitz pallets. The bad: cut in pay, obviously, and no telling where I'll end up. Plus, I'd miss my pharmacy peeps. I don't intend to bring this up to my store manager until well after Thanksgiving. He's really stressing about Blitz right now.
