Today's good thing

Today's good thing: we had a busy, but awesome day. We did some last minute pre-Christmas shopping, went by my uncle's, then went by my sister-in-law's, then a little more shopping(Harvey's, couldn't face Walmart on Christmas Eve Eve) and then home! Now the presents are all wrapped and I'm ready for bed.

I've seen how a lot of friends have lost their Christmas spirit, right here close to the holiday. I finally have mine, two days before! Walmart had just about beaten it out of me. The customers are especially evil this time of year and lose all their good manners. And Walmart talks about family, but they don't care if you get to see yours. They do close for the holiday, but then they want people to come in Christmas night. I know, it's retail, you signed up for that when you got the job. But you can make money and be decent to your employees.

But I really love this time of year, the tinsel, the sparkly stuff, I love giving people gifts, especially if it's something I know someone wants. I even like wrapping gifts.

Merry Christmas, and hang in there. I wish customers were nicer to people who work retail. And like you said, I wish Walmart respected employees' wishes more for those who don't want to come in on Xmas night.

Being off these few days before Christmas has helped. Luckily, I don't usually have to go in on Christmas night because my pharmacy manager is awesome. I always get my conversion(from holiday back to basics) done the week before and she never schedules me to come in overnight.
