Today's good thing/today's bad thing

Today's good thing I had a pleasant day at work, but it's hot again.

I did not have a pleasant after-work experience. J's work requires him to have a "wellness check"(a physical) every year. If he doesn't, he has to pay $50 extra every month. So, he had his physical last October, and we figured everything was okay. He took the paper from work, saying they absolutely had to code it as a physical for it to satisfy his work and the insurance company. We got a letter the other day saying they had no proof and would be taking the extra $50 a month for the rest of the year. They very magnanimously excused the other 7 months. I went to the insurance website, and sure enough, it was coded as an office visit.

I went by the doctor's office today and explained the situation. All his work needs is a statement from them that he did have his checkup. Well, the receptionist explained that the doctor saw him for this, this and this, and that's why it was coded that way. And I'm like, he explained the situation to you. He even had his flu shot the same day. Too bad. She offered to print off the notes from the visit, and I could go by their business office and speak to them about it. No thanks. Then when I got home, I started looking at the notes. Reason for visit: wellness check. Huh. So J's going to copy that and take it to work. If that doesn't work, when I have my appointment Friday, I will see if I can do better. Either way, I will have my say about all this. J's already said he won't be going back there, and has already made an appointment for this year's check with another doctor. Depending on how this goes, I may have to find another as well. This is not the first time we've changed doctors because of incompetent staff. All I really need is for him to order my yearly chest xray and blood work and give me my blood pressure pill prescription.
